This is something I’ve wanted to do for a while now. Not to get a lot of notes or whatever, but for my own benefit. Self image is something that a lot of teenagers struggle with, including me. I used to find it ridiculous when I heard that girls starved themselves, now I’m one of them.
And you know what? Tumblr doesn’t help. All of these girls on here talking about how they don’t eat and need to be thinner and the only pictures that have a lot of notes are skinny tan girls. This picture would never get more than 3 notes.
At my lowest point, I wouldn’t eat for an entire day. I would count calories like crazy. It literally took over my mind. But I’m getting better. I ate an entire cheesesteak today. That may be it, but I’m improving. You don’t need to be perfect to have guys like you or to succeed in life. There is no such thing as perfect.
But mostly I want the hate to stop. I am 5’6” and weigh 125 pounds. This may not be the beat picture of me. With bad lighting and a weird pose. But it shouldnt matter. I shouldnt have to worry about which angle i pose or what hate im going to get about it. I don’t want to only see ugly every time I walk past a mirror. But that’s society. Start telling people how beautiful they look every day. Be there for your friends when they’re down. And stick up for yourself when someone puts you down.Words hurt. Even if you’re just joking with a friend, you’re one sentence could push them over the edge.
If you read this whole thing, you’re awesome. It would be great if my message could be spread because even though starving yourself feels great, being healthy feels better in the long run.
